You may wish to exercise to improve fitness and tone, or to rehabilitate after an injury or maybe to reduce your stress levels, Yoga and Pilates will help you on your way. A way that is right for just you. With regular practice, energy levels increase, flexibility and posture improve and there’s a sense of feeling calmer, more relaxed, revitalised – ready to deal with the fast-paced lives we all tend to lead.
However, there is much more to explore than just "doing" the yoga poses and the Pilates repertoire. Apart from the physical and external benefits gained, by tuning into our bodies and being aware of our breath, and any reactions and feelings that may arise during the poses, hopefully we discover more about ourselves and begin to create awareness – not just in muscle balance but in the balance of the mind and spirit as well. By taking the time to exercise mindfully, intelligently and with intention, we discover truth, clarity and conscious awareness.

Angie Newson has been involved in the health and movement industry for over 25 years. She started firstly in group exercise in 1990, teaching aerobics and step in many top London clubs, and presenting in the UK and Europe, as well as appearing on various health TV shows as ‘fitness expert’ for Living TV, Channel 5, Discovery Health TV & Sky’s Fitness TV channel.
